Last night we went to Pappy and Harriet's in Pioneertown for a Victory Hoot. This was a party with live music, dinner and speakers to celebrate the defeat of Green Path North, a power transmission line project that would have affected many miles of pristine desert in this area.
It took three years to defeat this project, so there was a lot to celebrate. County Supervisor Neil Derry and GPN leader April Sall did some celebratory document-burning.
Our friend Phyllis took part in the protests. Here she is about to add her message to the GPN timeline.
On the way home we saw many clumps of evening-blooming desert primrose by the side of the road. Beautiful!
